Is this event a fundraiser?
Yes, this is a fundraiser in support of the food bank’s programs and mission that support hundreds of thousands of food-insecure Marylanders.
Where is the event being held?
The Blue Jean Ball is happening at our central warehouse at 2200 Halethorpe Farms Road, Baltimore, MD 21227.
What do I wear?
Party denim – dressy on top, jeans on the bottom. You choose, but be comfortable!

Do I need a physical ticket?
You do not need a physical ticket. All guests are assigned a table seat for the event. You will be informed of your table number upon arrival and check-in.
Note: everyone must check-in prior to gaining access to the event.
Where and what time should guests check-in to receive his or her table assignment?
Check-in will be at the front entrance to the food bank. Check-in starts at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 10:00 p.m.
If I arrive late for the event, what should I do?
Check-in will be open until 8:30 p.m. If you arrive after 8:30 p.m., speak with a staff member in the lobby and someone will assist you.
I have a seat at the gala, but cannot attend now. What should I do?
Please contact the person who invited you as soon as possible.
Is the gala handicap accessible?
What time does the program portion of the gala start?
The program portion of the gala will start promptly at 7:30 p.m.
What time does cocktail hour start and are there any post events?
The cocktail hour begins at 6:00 p.m. and includes passed hors d’oeuvres and a self-guided tour of the food bank. There are no post events.
What is the price and location for event parking?
Parking is valet and complimentary. Simply pull your vehicle into the parking lot of the food bank and we’ll take care of everything from there!
Is there a coat check, where is it located and what is the cost?
Coat check is located off the lobby of the food bank. This service is complimentary to all guests attending the party.
I have a dietary restriction. What should I do to request the alternate meal?
Can I bring a camera and/or video camera?
We ask that you do not bring large cameras and/or video cameras to the event. Using the camera on your mobile device or small tablet is preferred and acceptable.
Is the event being live streamed or is there a hashtag to join the social conversation around the gala?
Yes, the hashtag is #bluejeanball2019. We are not live streaming the evening.
Will there be an auction?
Yes, there will be a silent auction on our mobile bidding platform.
All mobile bidding auction items will be done using your smartphone, so come to the event fully charged! We strongly recommend you to pre-register your mobile number, which will allow you access to online bidding the day before the event and will also decrease your check-in time. If you have not already done so please reach out to Kateri Harried at (443) 297-5170 or email@example.com and she will assist you.
When bidding opens, you will be notified via your smartphone Bids will be updated in real-time and high bidders will be notified when their bids are topped. You may view the silent auction packages on our website.
Should you need assistance during the gala, volunteers will be available to answer your questions and facilitate your mobile bidding.
Is there a seated dinner?
Yes, there will be a seated, 4-course dinner catered by the award-winning Linwoods Caterers.
Who will be at the event?
Our strongest supporters, closest friends, donors, staff, clients, elected officials and all those we work with to fulfill our mission. We expect approximately 450 attendees.
Will there be a band?
Yes, Millennium band will be playing throughout the main event. Wear your dancing shoes!
Will media be present?
Maryland Food Bank photographers will be present to capture photos for our own promotional use. Media outlets are invited to attend.
