The “Outstanding Partner” award-winning Community Crisis Center has been an MFB partner for more than three decades, serving the Reisterstown community. The Community Crisis Center is an example of the best of what MFB partners do state-wide.
The “Outstanding Partner” award-winning The Door has been an MFB partner since 2014, serving the Patterson Park community. They use their extensive neighborhood partnerships to elevate their community, serving as a resiliency hub for East Baltimore.
The “Outstanding Partner” award-winning New Hope Community Outreach Center has been an MFB Network Partner since 2021, serving the Waldorf community in Charles County. New Hope is a newer partner, but with its rich community ties, they have quickly had a deep impact on the lives of their neighbors.
Darlene Johnson is much more than MFB’s customer service representative — she’s the ever-smiling, always cheerful face of the food bank to representatives of its many community partners who visit the central warehouse’s Marketplace to pick up food for their pantries.
A key part of MFB 3.0, our refreshed strategic plan, emphasizes expanding workforce development programs and partnerships that are crucial to not only Maryland’s continued recovery, but its long-term ability to thrive. Some of our Network Partners — including three that you’ll read about here — are already offering these wraparound services. Our Regional Program Directors are working every day to help more of our statewide partners form these kinds of beneficial relationships.
