The Maryland Food Bank is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending hunger in Maryland. Through a statewide network of community partners, we distribute food to those in need via food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and faith-based organizations. Our efforts extend beyond food distribution with outreach programs that provide direct assistance, promote good nutrition, and combat hunger through innovative solutions, building a stronger, hunger-free Maryland.
On February 13 – otherwise known as “Galentine’s Day” – dozens of dedicated female volunteers and board members showed their love for Marylanders facing food insecurity. Galentine’s Day sets aside a special time, one day before Valentine’s Day, for women to celebrate special friendships with their female friends.
On a bright and cold January day, staff and volunteers of the Maryland Food Bank arrived in Annapolis with a message for state lawmakers: We need YOU in the fight to end hunger.
