Holistic Help for Hunger’s Root Causes

A key part of MFB 3.0, our refreshed strategic plan, emphasizes expanding workforce development programs and partnerships that are crucial to not only Maryland’s continued recovery, but its long-term ability to thrive. Some of our Network Partners — including three that you’ll read about here — are already offering these wraparound services. Our Regional Program Directors are working every day to help more of our statewide partners form these kinds of beneficial relationships.

Dedication to Reaching All Marylanders

In FY21, 223 dedicated Network Partners stood up for their communities and helped keep a constant stream of food flowing into the hands of their neighbors in need, including the older residents of Park View at Coldspring in northwest Baltimore City.

Nutrition Matters: August Update from the Educational Garden

In the latest installment of “Nutrition Matters,” MFB’s director of nutrition Kate Long takes readers on a tour of the Partner Garden – a special area in our larger Education Garden that is devoted to teaching our Network Partners how gardening can help strengthen their communities.

Following the Food: Holiday Box Distributions

At this year’s Pack to Give Back event, the Maryland Food Bank invited individual supporters and local businesses to help pack holiday meals for 23,400 food-insecure families. Over the course of the next few weeks, these meals will change hands and travel from our warehouse to network partners before reaching their final destination: our clients. In the series Following the Food, the food bank will document this journey and all of the individuals who make it possible.
