What is your tax ID number?
Our Tax ID number is 52-1135690. We are a 501c-3 organization.
Can I make a donation in honor of someone?
You make your gift in honor of someone on our online donation form by checking the box “This donation is in honor/memory of someone.”
You then have the option to send your tributee an eCard to notify them of your gift, or the Maryland Food Bank will mail the desired recipient a letter with your name, but not your gift amount.

Can I get a list of all donations I made this calendar year?
All supporters with a valid email address, regardless of contribution amount, will receive a digital summary of their annual donations in late January of each year. To ensure you receive this, update your email by going to the Contact Us page and select “Annual Statement Request.”
If you would like a hard copy of your annual statement, go to the Contact Us page, select “Annual Statement Request,” and include your request for a printed statement and your address in the Message box. You will be mailed your summary statement after January 20th of the new year.
How do I update my monthly donation?
To make basic updates to your monthly gift including expiration date, address, or gift amount, please use the sustainer update form.
If you need to update your card number, please set up a new recurring donation and send an email to dst@mdfoodbank.org to deactivate your previous monthly gift. We will email you back to confirm that these transactions went through properly.
There was a mistake with my online donation, can you fix it?
Please email dst@mdfoodbank.org about donation problems. We can issue a refund if the amount is incorrect, cancel automatic monthly donations if you did not intend to give monthly, or add any additional information to your gift.
Do you accept donation via PayPal?
Yes, Paypal is a payment option through our online donation form.
Do you accept gifts from my IRA or retirement account?
Yes, we do. The Maryland Food Bank is a 501c-3 organization and recognized as a public charity under sections 509a-1 and 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) of the Internal Revenue Code. Please go to the IRA & Stock Gifts page for more information.

Can my donation be restricted to a specific purpose, program, or region?
Donations under $10,000 are used for general operating and are not restricted in our finances. Our general operating funds are used in all regions of the state and for all our programs, so the funds you provide will ultimately support the work of your specific interest.
How can I raise money for the Maryland Food Bank?
The best way to fundraise for the Maryland Food Bank is with our online fundraising platform, Fenly. You can customize your message and easily share with your network, all from the comfort of your home!
There was an issue I when set up or tried to contribute to a virtual food drive, team fundraiser, or individual fundraiser. Can you fix it?

Can you remove me from your mailing list?
We’re sorry to see you go, but we can absolutely honor this. Submit requests to be removed from our mailing list on the Contact Us page and select “Mailing List Updates” in the Subject dropdown. Include your full name and address. Once you make this request, you can expect to see a reduction in mailings in 6-8 weeks.

Can you come pick up my food donation?
For personal donations or food drive collections, we ask that you drop off your donation if it can fit in the trunk of your vehicle. Find our drop off hours and locations here. For larger food donations, please fill out this form to request a pick up.

With 93,000 square feet, the Baltimore warehouse is the central hub for food distribution to central Maryland, as well as our branches in Western Maryland and on the Eastern Shore. The Baltimore office houses the majority of the food bank’s total workforce, statewide campaigns, and initiatives. In FY23, the Maryland Food Bank distributed enough food to provide more than 41 million meals.

In 1981, the Maryland Food Bank opened a branch in Salisbury in order to better serve the rural populations of the Eastern Shore. In its first year, the branch distributed about 33,000 meals. In FY23, the branch distributed nearly 6 million meals.
