Record Number of Volunteers Pack Holiday Meal Boxes During Pack to Give Back 2025
On Friday, October 24, a record 400 volunteers from nearly 25 companies gathered at the Maryland Food Bank to pack Holiday Meal Kits for families across the state. The food bank’s annual Pack to Give Back event brings together corporate and community partners to help ensure more Maryland families can share a nourishing holiday meal together.
The meal boxes, which each contain traditional holiday fixings like cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and stuffing, will be paired with a turkey or ham and distributed at a later date through the Maryland Food Bank’s statewide network of community partner pantries and distribution sites.
“At the Maryland Food Bank, we know that food is more than just calories – it’s the things that feed our hearts too: connection, community, and joy. We are grateful for the partnership of the organizations and volunteers who join us for Pack to Give Back and help deliver hope to Maryland families,” said Meg Kimmel, President & CEO of the Maryland Food Bank.
The cost of items within each box is underwritten by generous sponsors including Aegon Transamerica, Dash In, Enterprise Mobility, Giant Food, The Kahlert Foundation, Kellanova, M&T Bank, and Shipt. 
“I have people in my family who have been affected by food insecurity—every dollar and every meal counts. To be able to play a part in helping people get what they need during the holidays is really important.”
