For more than 30 years, Ben has been helping organizations raise awareness and inspire action by creating compelling narratives. And since 2018, Ben has been the Maryland Food Bank’s Staff Writer, elevating the voices of food-insecure neighbors to further the Maryland Food Bank’s mission of feeding people, strengthening communities, and ending hunger for more Marylanders.
The Key Bridge collapse is a tragic event that will have far-reaching and long-lasting consequences. Thankfully, due to the generosity of our donors, supporters, and our friends in Annapolis, the Maryland Food Bank and its statewide food safety net stands ready to offer assistance and support to neighbors – both every day, and in times of heightened need.

Catherine’s Family & Youth Services has been offering neighbors in the Edgecombe community access to nutritious foods for years. Recently, the organization’s executive director Valarie Williams has been building pathways out of hunger by developing partnerships with local service providers that are helping locals address hunger’s root causes.
Meet Tina Crow, a neighbor who unexpected found herself and her family in need at the holidays. Thankfully, she found comfortable relief at MFB Network Partner City of Refuge in northeast Baltimore.
While accessing nutritious food is critical to being able to thrive every day, it takes on an extra level of importance around the holidays. On behalf of the tens of thousands of neighbors whose holidays were made brighter, thank you from the Maryland Food Bank.
