Hunger Action Month 2026: Make Your Move to End Hunger
You’ve seen it on the news or in your feed. Food insecurity is at historic levels in Maryland, and many neighbors are feeling stressed and stretched thin by declining food assistance benefits and the rising cost of living.
In a recent poll, the Maryland Food Bank found nearly 80% of Marylanders think we can end hunger, but only 1 in 4 say they are actively involved in a solution.
That’s why September is Hunger Action Month, a time for you to make your move to end hunger. Every action you take adds up to real change for families, kids, older adults, and people in your community.
Here are the Top 5 Ways You Can Make Your Move Now:
Volunteer
Make a difference and have fun doing it! Find out how you, your group, or your company can help the Maryland Food Bank in Baltimore or Salisbury.
Get Counted
One of the best ways to build food security is to enact policies and programs at the local, state, and national level that support a hunger-free future. Maryland’s general election is November 3, 2026. Register to vote and make sure your voice is heard.
