Mosh for Meals: Hardcore Punk Band Sick Move are Changemakers
On August 30, 2025, Baltimore-based Hardcore Punk band Sick Move found themselves in an unexpected spotlight: heading up the “Mosh for Meals” show, benefitting the Maryland Food Bank.
“The whole thing was actually started by another band who ended up having to drop out. They sent us a message a couple weeks ago saying the show was cancelled, but we ended up asking Suicide Wave to fill their spot so we could keep the night booked,” said Bob Shade, drummer for Sick Move.
Alongside Sick Move and Suicide Wave, Fear of God, Supreme Commander, and Marrowed filled out the bill at The Depot – a Baltimore bar known for its live music and supportive community.
“We had an awesome time Saturday! It was a donation-based admission, so you could either put some money in the box at the door or bring a canned food item to help – a lot of people start going hungry before they end up outside because they have to choose between their housing costs and buying groceries every month.”

Shade finds the DIY aspect of punk music to be very fulfilling and is thrilled to be part of a community where in his words “you’ll never meet nicer people than you will at a punk show.” ![]()
