On Thursday, May 7 the Maryland Food Bank held a Corporate Volunteer Appreciation Event, recognizing companies that have made a meaningful impact through both volunteer service and financial support.
On February 12, the food bank held its second annual Galentine’s Day Event, a special volunteer shift specifically for women who love community and giving back.
On Feb. 6, 2026, Giant Food celebrated their 90th birthday with cake, balloons, and giving back. Befitting their long history of community connection, Giant is marking their ninth decade by donating $990,000 to food banks in the communities they serve, including the Maryland Food Bank.
In mid-December 2025, the Maryland Food Bank passed an audit of its three branches, receiving strong scores that indicate healthy food safety standards.
On Monday, January 19, teams of volunteers from three local organizations pitched in to pack nutritious food at the Maryland Food Bank, celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day by giving back.
