Building Back Up Boxes to Meet the COVID-19 Need

To meet the growing need as COVID-19’s effects force more Marylanders into food insecurity, we’ve set up an off-site location to build Back Up Boxes, 30-pound packages of shelf-stable, nutritious foods than can be easily packed, transported, and distributed wherever the need is in our state.

Maryland Food Bank: 2019 Day of Service

On September 12, we deployed our staff to MFB partner sites from the western mountains to the Eastern Shore to show that we all can do more to help end hunger for more Marylanders as part of our first ever “MFB Day of Service.”

Food First: Expanding the Capacity of our Network Partners

The Food First Grant Program is designed to expand partner capacity, strengthening our network. The grant money will be used for a variety of capacity-building projects aimed at increasing the amount of food partners distribute, expanding their service hours, transporting and handling perishable foods, and providing additional services to help clients address the root causes of hunger.
