The Eastern Shore encompasses eight of the twenty-one counties we serve in the state of Maryland, and is home to nearly 45,000 individuals who are food insecure. We’re dedicated to helping them reach their full potential by expanding our hunger relief efforts in the region with a $1.5 million investment in infrastructure and operational improvements.
The Farm to Food Bank Program is an innovative and cooperative effort between farmers, volunteers, and the Maryland Food Bank which helps get nutritious produce into the hands of food-insecure Marylanders. Amy Cawley, who runs the program will blog regularly through the growing season, giving you an insider’s view of how we get fresh produce from farm to food bank.

While we are grateful to our Summer Club partners, there is much more work to be done to reach the thousands of kids across the state who want to enjoy break without worrying about hunger.
