The reinstatement of a controversial clause in SNAP legislature has been the source of much debate over the last month. Like any complex initiative, the actual implications of this clause have been misreported and politicized by many. For the Maryland Food Bank, this is not about politics. This is about hunger, and it’s important that everyone have access to the facts about the ABAWD time limit.

Volunteer Appreciation Week 2016

Whether Maryland Food Bank volunteers are in school or retired, gleaning vegetables or sorting canned goods, we appreciate all of the work they do. In 2015, our volunteers contributed 34,000 hours of work to help the hungry across our state. In honor of Volunteer Appreciation Week, we are highlighting some of of our most dedicated volunteers from the last year.

Grants Support MFB’s Food Safety Goals

Our Baltimore facility passed an AIB International safety audit earlier this month. The Salisbury facility is due to be audited next month. Grants provided funding to make safety upgrades to the facilities.
