Food Lion Feeds recently hosted their annual Great Pantry Makeover event—and this year, two Maryland Food Bank partners, Soul Harvest (Baltimore) and Delmarva Evangelistic Church (Salisbury), were two of 60 lucky feeding agencies to win. The grants from Food Lion Feeds will ultimately help build the partners’ pantry’s capacity to store and distribute nutritious food to their respected communities.
Thanks to a sizable investment from CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, the Maryland Food Bank – Eastern Shore facility will undergo a major revitalization — drastically impacting our ability to provide food-insecure individuals on the Eastern Shore with healthy food.
On one side of West Washington Street, Hagerstown’s biggest food pantry is tucked away behind a small set of concrete stairs and an unmarked door.
